Released on June 12 during the Raja festival, Bou Buttu Bhuta has witnessed a phenomenal run at the box office, driven by strong word of mouth and consistent audience turnout across Odisha. The film opened to packed theatres and has maintained a steady trend even during weekdays –” a rarity in regional cinema.

On its 15th day, the movie officially crossed the 10 crore net mark, becoming a landmark moment for the Odia film industry. The worldwide gross now stands at around 12 crores.

Bou Buttu Bhuta is the first Odia film to enter the 10 crore club, surpassing earlier record holders like Daman and Karma. The film was made on a modest budget of 2–“3 crores, making its returns even more impressive, with profits reportedly exceeding 300%.

This also marks a major milestone for lead actor Babushaan Mohanty, who has achieved his biggest commercial success to date. For director Jagdish Mishra and producer Tripti Satapathy, this film not only breaks box office records but also raises the bar for future Odia productions in terms of storytelling, production quality, and audience connect.
