Upcoming South Indian Movies And Their Release Dates
When the theaters were allowed to reopen back in October 2020, it brought a light of hope to the halted cinema exhibition sector which remained shut for almost 7 months starting from March 2020. After almost no big stars release in the pandemic year, cinema owners were expecting that big stars will step up, especially Bollywood, and help exhibitors and distributors to revive their business. ##
It's been almost 3 months since theaters reopened, and still, big Bollywood biggies are playing a waiting game until things get completely normalize. As of now, only Salman Khan's Radhe and John Abraham starrer Satyameva Jayate 2 are lined up to release in the first half of the year along with Rana Daggubati starrer pan India movie, Haathi Mere Saathi.##
However, as they say, one's loss is another's gain, in the absence of Bollywood biggies, the regional cinemas, especially, Tamil and Telugu, are gearing up to cash the advantage in the first half and beyond. With the mega-success of Thalapathy Vijay's Tamil movie, Master, that released on January 13, the big Tamil and Telugu stars are fast lining up releases for the rest of the year which include movies like Vakeel Saab, Acharya, Radhe Shyam, Pushpa, F3 Movie, RRR, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, KGF Chapter 2 along with many others. ##
"After the success of Master, there are movies lined up across languages, particularly Tamil and Telugu. Having witnessed houseful shows in our theatres after more than nine months, one can say there is a definite eagerness to view films (in cinemas)", Devang Sampat, deputy CEO, Cinepolis India said to Mint.##
The Malayalam language line-up includes big star vehicles including Mammootty's, The Priest, and Mohanlal's long-awaited, Marakkar besides medium-budget offerings like Operation Java, Varthamanam, and others. Meanwhile, the ever-increasing fan following of South Indian stars and demand for their movies all over India have ensured that movies such as KGF Chapter 2, Radhe Shyam, Pushpa, RRR, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Marakkar, Haathi Mere Saathi will be having massive pan India releases, and don't be surprised if other stars also release their movies other than the original languages. ##
