Mumbai, October 2 - Filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar, after announcing a film on Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, has now announced a film on Nathuram Godse, who assassinated Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The movie, titled "Godse" was announced on Mahatma Gandhi's 152nd birth anniversary on October 2. It will be produced by Sandeep Singh and Raaj Shaandilyaa. ## Announcing the film, Mahesh Manjrekar wrote on Twitter, "The Deadliest Birthday wish ever! Get ready to witness a story no one dared to tell before! Sandeep Singh, Raaj Shaandilyaa, and Mahesh Manjrekar announce a film "Godse" on Mahatma Gandhi's 152nd birth anniversary. The story of Nathuram Godse has always been close to my heart".## The filmmaker further said that while telling the story of Godse, the makers do not want to speak against anyone and only audiences have the right to choose what is wrong or right. He assassinated Mahatma Gandhi and shot him in the chest three times at point-blank range in New Delhi on 30 January 1948. Godse believed Gandhi to have favored the political demands of British India's Muslims during the partition of India of 1947, which led him to plan Gandhi's murder with 7 others. After a trial that lasted over a year, Godse was sentenced to death on 8 November 1949 and was hanged in the Ambala Central Jail on 15 November 1949.## Stay tuned...
