Despite belonging to entirely different genres, both films managed to draw audiences post-Diwali, resulting in a collective box office gross of around 40 crore. While Thamma attracted family crowds and youth with its quirky premise and humour, Deewaniyat found love among urban audiences for its music and emotional storytelling.
