Mumbai, March 19 - Amazon Prime Video set to woo audiences around the world, craving for Indian content. The streaming giant has announced a new slate with 70 Indian shows and movies that are scheduled to premiere on the streaming platform over the next two years. ## Amid the original shows and movies, Prime Video also announced several films which will premiere after their theatrical releases. While some of the films are already in the filming stage, some of them will start rolling soon and will premiere on Prime Video after completing their theatrical journey. ## Here are all the Indian movies coming to Prime Video after their theatrical release - ## Housefull 5 - The fifth instalment in the popular comedy franchise, the movie stars Akshay Kumar, and Riteish Deshmukh in the leading roles. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, HF5 is scheduled to hit big screens on June 6, 2025. ## Chandu Champion - Actor Kartik Aaryan teamed up with director Kabir Khan for this inspirational sports drama, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The movie is scheduled to be released theatrically on June 14, 2024. ## Singham 3 - Director Rohit Shetty aims to make a solid comeback at the box office with the third instalment of the cop action drama, starring Ajay Devgn in the title role. Also featuring Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Arjun Kapoor, Singham Again is slated to hit big screens in August 2024. ## Ashwatthama - Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani's Pooja Entertainment came up with the big announcement of the day, confirming the magnum opus with Shahid Kapoor in the title role. Kannada filmmaker Sachin Ravi has been attached to direct this biggie which will go on floors in September this year. ## Baaghi 4 - Tiger Shroff will be returning to headline producer Sajid Nadiadwala's action thriller. No other details have been locked yet. ## Kanguva - Tamil star Suriya teamed with director Siva for this fantasy action film, also starring Bobby Deol and Disha Patani. Produced by Studio Green, the movie will have a Pan India release later this year. ## Don 3 - The long-in-demand action thriller will star Ranveer Singh, replacing Shah Rukh Khan to play the titular role of Don. Kiara Advani will be playing the female lead with Farhan Akhtar to direct and produce under Excel Entertainment. ## Sanki - Sajid Nadiadwala recently announced this romantic actioner, starring Ahan Shetty, and Pooja Hegde. It will be directed by Adnan A Shaikh and Yasir Jah, and it will be released in 2025. ## Kantara: Chapter 1 - Actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty's period action thriller film is a prequel to his mega-blockbuster film Kantara. The movie is produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films and it will have a Pan India release later this year. ## Hari Hara Veera Mallu - Director Krish Jagarlamudi's period action adventure film starring Pawan Kalyan has been in production for a long time. Produced by Mega Surya Production, the film also stars Nidhi Agarwal, and Bobby Deol in prominent roles. ## Stree 2 - The hugely-awaited sequel to 2018's horror-comedy, starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khuranna will be hitting cinemas this August. Mumbai, October 3 - Producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films has announced the theatrical release dates of its 10 films that will debut in theatres over the next two years. Among the 10 films, "Happy Teachers Day" will release this year while 6 films will debut in 2024, and 3 films will hit screens in 2025.## Happy Teachers Day - Directed by Mikhil Musale, the movie stars Nimrat Kaur, Radhika Madan, Bhaygashree, and Subodh Bhave in prominent roles. It will hit screens on October 27, 2023. ## Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's untitled next - Bollywood stars Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon team up for the first for this robotic romantic comedy film, billed as an impossible love story. Directed by Amit Joshi & Aradhana Sah and also starring Dharmendra, and Dimple Kapadia, the movie will be released on February 9, 2024, during Valentine's Day weekend.## Munjhya - A part of Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe, Munjhya stars Sharvari Wagh in the lead role alongside, Mona Singh, S Satyaraj, and Abhay Verma. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, it will be released on March 29, 2024.## Tehran - Directed by Arun Gopalan, the movie stars John Abraham, Manushi Chillar, and Neeru Bajwa in the leading roles. It will now be hitting cinemas on April 26, 2024.## Stree 2 - Easily the most-awaited movie from Maddock Films, "Stree 2" is the sequel to 2018's film which was the first movie in the studio's horror-comedy universe. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the movie stars Shraddha Kapoor in the title role alongside, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. The movie will be released on August 30, 2024.## Sky Force - Another big-budgeted war movie, which was recently announced. Starring superstar Akshay Kumar, and marking the debut of Veer Pahariya, "Sky Force" is based on India's first and deadliest air strike during the Indo-Pak war in 1965. It is directed by Sandeep Kewlani & Abhishek Anil Kapur and will be released on October 2, 2024.## Chaava - This historical action drama film is a larger-than-life biopic of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of the Maratha empire's founder and the great warrior king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Vicky Kaushal plays the lead role with Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Directed by Laxman Utekar, "Chaava" will hit cinemas on December 6, 2024.## Ekkis - Directed by Sriram Raghavan, and starring Dharmendra, Agastya Nanda, and Jaideep Ahlawat, Ekkis will be released on January 10, 2025.## Vampires of Vijaynagar - Another movie that is touted to be a part of the horror-comedy universe. It will be directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, and Maddock has scheduled it for February 14, 2025, release on Valentine's Day.## Diler - Directed by Kunal Deshmukh, it will hit theatres on April 10, 2025. Mumbai, July 17 - Director Sriram Raghavan's long-awaited drama thriller movie "Merry Christmas" starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi gets a new release date in theaters. This is the first time Katrina and Vijay are coming together on the silver screen. ## On Monday (July 17), the makers shared the first-look posters which have piqued audiences' interest. The cool-looking posters give the major vintage vibes with an intriguing tagline on the poster reads, "Raat jitni sageen hogi, subah utni rageen hogi".## The movie has been confirmed to release on December 15 this year, clashing with Sidharth Malhotra's "Yodha". It will release a week before Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani's "Dunki" and two weeks after Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga's "Animal". There are a few more films scheduled to release in December, including Vicky Kaushal's "Sam Bahadur" (Dec. 1) and Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's untitled rom-com on Dec. 8. ## "Merry Christmas" is shot in Hindi and Tamil languages with different supporting actors. Part of that vision is Maddock's interpretation of "Arabian Nights", which is currently in development. First up will be "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves", followed by "Aladdin" and "Sinbad". The movie is already on the floors under the direction of Sriram Raghavan ("Badlapur", "Andhadhun") and it is being produced by Ramesh Taurani's Tips Industries and Sanjay Rautray. ## Katrina Kaif, who recently got married to Vicky Kaushal, faced the camera for the first time after marriage on Wednesday as she has begun shooting for "Merry Christmas". The mahurat shot took place in the Mumbai suburbs on December 22. The movie will be shot at a live location in South Mumbai and then later in Pune. ## Merry Christmas is an edge-of-the-seat thriller. The movie was supposed to go on floors on April 15 this year. Mumbai, December 21 - Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari has reportedly signed Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor for his next directorial. The filmmaker was to direct his ambitious Ramayana trilogy next. However, the project has been said to be postponed over date issues with lead actors, Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor, who have busy schedules throughout next year with other projects. ## According to peepingmoon.com, Nitesh Tiwari is planning a quickie before starting the Ramayana trilogy and he has roped in Varun and Janhvi for the film, which will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. While the details about the project are kept under wraps for now, it is believed to be a romantic entertainer. It will be Janhvi's first film with Varun Dhawan. ## It is reported that Varun Dhawan was to headline Nadiadwala's "Sanki". However, due to the covid-19 pandemic, they decided to call off that project and work on something else that's not just a masala potboiler. And that's when Nadiadwala pitched him Nitesh Tiwari's film. Melbourne, August 20, 2021: The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) announced its winners for its 12th edition, which was held virtually on August 20 (Friday). This year's festival had a line-up of feature and short films from across India, representing the theme of diversity through cinema.## Pankaj Tripathi, who has been winning accolades for his versatility in films and web shows, was honored with the Diversity in Cinema Award presented by LaTrobe University. On winning the award, Pankaj Tripathi said, "This award is special for me, I'm humbled and it's really inspiring for me, my craft. The man who is here to give me this award, he is the one who discovered my talent. So thanks to Anurag Kashyap sir. He is the one who rediscovered my talent. I’m grateful to all my directors, writers for having me part of their projects". ## Tamil film Soorarai Pottru walked away with the Best Feature Film and Suriya won the Best Actor award for the same. Soorarai Pattru was released last year on Amazon Prime Video and has been winning accolades around the world since. It is also the highest-rated Indian movie on IMDb and the third-highest worldwide with a rating of 9.1. ## Suriya, on his part, thanked his fans and Soorarai Pottru director Sudha Kongara, saying, "I'm sure all the nominees have given their best. This film is very special, and this is the first award I'm getting for this film. Thanks to all the fans who have given us so much love. In my career, I felt bored with what I was doing after having worked for 20 years. So thanks to my director Sudha — this film was her 10 years dream — she worked four years on writing or his film. The character of Maara will not be anything without her. I couldn't ask for more". ## Among the other top honours, Samantha Akkineni and Manoj Bajpayee won the best actress and best actor award for a web series. The duo headlined Prime Video's "The Family Man 2", which marked Samantha's digital as well as Hindi debut. Vidya Balan also won the best actress award for her movie Sherni, which also premiered on Amazon Prime Video. ## Indian filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap, Shoojit Sircar, Thiagarajan Kumararaja, Sriram Raghavan were amongst the presenters. Andhadhun Director Sriram Raghavan To Make His OTT Debut Based On True Shocking Event

Director Sriram Raghavan, who is known for making films with hard-hitting themes such as Andhadhun, Badlapur, and others, is all set to make his digital debut with a series based on one of India's unforgettable and horrifying incidents that took place in 1999 in the forms of Hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814, commonly known as IC 814. (according to LetsOTT) ## The series will narrate the hijacking of the Indian Airlines Flight AC-814 by Pakistan based terrorist group Harkat-ul-Mujahideen in 1999. The incident forced India to release three Islamist terrorists in return for the safety of 176 passengers and crew of the flight before five masked terrorists fatally stabbed one and wounded several others. ## Raghavan and his team are said to have started researching the project and are talking to crew members and passengers who were on the flight for their source material. Raghavan is apparently planning to make it as a taut thriller and mount it next year. The OTT platform for the project is not decided yet. ## Talking about the incident, Indian Airlines Flight 814 was hijacked on December 24, 1999, when it was en route from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, Nepal to Delhi. The airbus was hijacked by five masked gunmen shortly after it entered the Indian airspace. The hijackers ordered the aircraft to be flown to a series of locations such as Amritsar, Lahore, and Dubai before they forced the aircraft to land in Kandahar, Afghanistan, which at the time was controlled by the Taliban. ## The Kandahar hijacking has been the subject of a few films in past. Mohanlal and Amitabh Bachchan starrer 2010 Malayalam film Kandahar, Nagarjuna's Gaganam, and Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu starrer Zameen (2003) were loosely based on this incident. ## Meanwhile, Sriram Raghavan was supposed to shoot for Ekkis with Varun Dhawan last year. However, the film could not go on floors because of the covid-19 pandemic. The film which is based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Kheterpal is now said to go on floors in September. ## Stay tuned...
