Shah Rukh Khan's King To Not Release On Gandhi Jayanti 2026? Possible New Date Revealed

Mumbai, August 27 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in director Rajkumar Hirani's comedy drama, Dunki, in December 2023. Since then, he has been working on his next, which is an action thriller King, with his Pathaan director Siddharth Anand. King went on floors in June this year, but an unfortunate shoulder injury to Shah Rukh Khan, which he sustained while filming for an action sequence, has proved to be a roadblock. King Khan was advised to rest for a couple of months before he resumes filming, and that has reportedly altered the release plans. According to the report by Mid-day, King, which was reportedly eying the Gandhi Jayanti 2026 release, has now been pushed back due to a delay in the shoot. "Shah Rukh needs to rest it out for weeks before he can face the camera again. It is an action-heavy film, so the team doesn’t want to take a chance with his health", says the report. While the official release date has not been announced yet, a recent report by peepingmoon.com suggested that Shah Rukh Khan and director Anand are eyeing Christmas 2026 as the possible theatrical release date. The chances have become bright for this date after the postponement of Vicky Kaushal's ambitious Mahavatar. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix, King marks SRK's first screen outing with daughter Suhana Khan, who makes her big screen debut with this. Mumbai, May 14 - After the blockbuster comeback with three continues blockbusters in 2023, superstar Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up to start his film King, to be directed by Siddharth Anand. The movie has maintained the hype despite no official announcement. ## There is massive curiosity among the fans for King, which is getting bigger and bigger with each passing day, with its casting. It was already confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana Khan would be making her big screen debut with King, before Abhishek Bachchan and Munjyaa fame Abhay Varma joined them. ## Recently, it was revealed that Arshad Warsi came on board the film to play a pivotal role, marking his maiden film with Shah Rukh Khan. Mumbai, December 23 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and director Siddharth Anand are set to reunite for action thriller King after delivering a big blockbuster last year in the form of Pathaan. Anand will also produce the movie with Red Chillies Entertainment. ## King, which also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Suhana Khan, was supposed to be directed by Sujoy Ghosh who has now been replaced by Anand. Shah Rukh Khan's 'King' To Release On Eid 2026

Mumbai, September 13 - After the historic comeback in 2023 with three back-to-back big blockbusters, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is taking time before starting his next film, titled King which with director Sujoy Ghosh under production Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix. ## King has been in the pre-production work for a while now and was supposed to go on floors by the end of this year. However, the makers are being extra careful before starting the shoot which has now been delayed to January 2026, according to the report by Pinkvilla. ## It is said that the first schedule of King will commence in Mumbai in January 2025, followed by a marathon schedule in Europe. The makers have done multiple rounds of recce in Europe to identify virgin locations that bring scale to the film. ## The film will be shot until August/September 2025 due to multiple changes in the locations. As reported earlier, the movie will miss a 2025 release which the makers were originally eyeing, and as per the latest report, it will now be hitting the big screen on Eid 2026. ## If the movie indeed makes it to the Eid 2026 slot, it will be Shah Rukh Khan's first film to release on this particular festival since Chennai Express (2013) which was a blockbuster. ## King is said to be an action thriller, unlike any other film Shah Rukh Khan has done so far.
