Late Irrfan Khan's last film Angrezi Medium which theatrical release was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown in the country, is all set to become one of the first movies to be released in Dubai as the cinemas are reopening there on Wednesday, May 27 after the two months of break. ## However, the film will not get to release with full capacity as the cinemas have to follow some strict guidelines issued by the government. Mumbai, April 16 (IANS) Actor-comedian Kiku Sharda feels bad that Irrfan Khan's comeback film "Angrezi Medium" didn't get a proper run at the box-office owing the shutdown of theatres all over India in the wake of the escalating COVID-19 pandemic. The movie later had its digital release.## "It's crazy and really sad. I really wish that 'Angrezi Medium' would have released a little earlier or little after -- at least, we would have had a proper release. The movie was taken down after one day of release. It is such a beautiful film and Irrfan Khan hasn't done a film in a long time, given his health conditions. It was such an important thing for everyone to see him, and I was really hoping that people would get a chance to see him in theatre," said Kiku.## Apart from Irrfan and Kiku, the Homi Adajania-helmed also features Radhika Madan, Deepak Dobriyal, Ranveer Shorey, and Kareena Kapoor Khan.## "The response of people who have seen the film is great. People have reached out to me on social media platforms and praised the movie. And of course, everyone is talking about the great ensemble cast. Each and every character is being praised, every actor is apt and remarkably good in the role they performed. The chemistry between Irrfan Khan and Deepak Dobriyal was very much appreciated. People are in awe of the story as well. New Delhi, April 6 (IANS) Irrfan Khans "Angrezi Medium" released at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic was starting to hit India, resulting in the closure of theatres around the country. Now with the film finding its way onto the digital medium, the team of the movie got a chance to reunite, virtually, and watch it together.## The film had its world digital premiere on Disney+ Hotstar VIP on April 6.## The "Angrezi Medium" cast got emotional with the digital medium bringing them together -- despite the distance and lockdown.## Irrfan and Radhika Madan were joined by Kiku Sharda, Pankaj Tripathi, Deepak Dobriyal, Ranvir Shorey as well as Dinesh Vijan and Homi Adajania during the video chat. Irrfan, however, didn't come in front of the camera during the video chat.## Directed by Homi Adajania, "Angrezi Medium" revolves around a father-daughter relationship, played out by Irrfan and Radhika. COVID 19 effect: Bollywood box office takes a hard hit

Mumbai, March 13 (IANS) Upcoming films have been indefinitely postponed owing to cinema halls being shut down in the wake of coronavirus pandemic, but the films that were already running are bearing the brunt. ## The Tiger Shroff-starrer "Baaghi 3" and this week's release "Angrezi Medium", which brings back Irrfan, are the hardest hit. ## "Baaghi 3", which released in India on March 6, was doing brisk business till many states declared an emergency, directing halls to shut down. The film recorded the biggest opening of 2020 so far, raking in Rs 17.50 crore on day one. ## However, "Baaghi 3" is currently witnessing a slump at the box office after cinema halls were shut down in Delhi, Maharashtra, Jammu, Bihar, Orissa, Karnataka, and Kerala, at the time of going to press. ## While the film is expected to cross the Rs 100-crore mark, the trade had expected it to scale at least Rs 130 crore. Till Thursday, the film has managed Rs 90.67 crore, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh's tweet. ## As per several trade projections, big-ticket films like "Baaghi 3" and Rohit Shetty's postponed "Sooryavanshi" stand to see a 15-20 percent impact on their collections under these circumstances. The scene looks bleaker for a smaller film like "Angrezi Medium", which opened on Friday.
