'Radhe Shyam' Producers Acquire Telugu Theatrical Rights of Prabhas-Fronted 'Adipurush'?

Mumbai, September 4 - Superstar Prabhas is preparing himself for the release of one of the biggest films of his career, Adipurush, based on the epic Ramayana. ## The Om Raut-directed film is scheduled to release on January 12, 2023, and there is already massive anticipation for the movie in the trade. ## Prabhas' last "Radhe Shyam" was produced by UV Creations and T-Series, and according to Telugu 360, UV Creations has acquired the Telugu theatrical rights of the movie. ## Prabhas shares a very good bond with the producers and it is said that he has asked them to grab the film's distribution rights for the Telugu version. ## The report says that UV Creations bagged the rights for Rs 100 crores and they are expected to score a big profit from this particular movie. Mumbai, August 26 - Actor Nikhil Siddhartha's blockbuster Karthikeya 2 has surpassed Prabhas and Pooja Hegde's Radhe Shyam's lifetime collection in Hindi languages. Radhe Shyam, which was released earlier in March this year, couldn't do justice to Prabhas' stardom in the Hindi version and ended up collecting only approx. 19.50 crores net. ## "Karthikeya 2", which opened to nothing numbers of just 7 lakh but grow significantly with each passing day after getting excellent reviews and super positive word of mouth. It scored 5.75 crores net in the opening week, followed by 13.52 crores (+235%) net in the second week. The total Hindi collection of the movie after 14 days reached 20.11 crores.## There is no comparison between Radhe Shyam and Karthikeya 2 as the Prabhas-starrer movie was made on a huge budget and scale against K2, which has been made at a fraction of the budget of RS. However, it was the content, where Radhe Shyam fell flat whereas Karthikey 2 has been hailed as one of the best Telugu films of the year, resulting in, it also making huge noise in the dubbed Hindi version as well. ## Directed by Chandoo Mondeti and produced by Abhishek Agarwal and T.G.Vishwa Prasad, "Karthikeya 2" is following the trend of Allu Arjun's "Pushpa - The Rise" in the Hindi version. What is more surprising is that it has hit approx. 4 million viewing hours more in the 3rd week than in the second week. ## The movie debuted on Netflix on April 26 after completing its 8-week hit theatrical window and was the number 1 non-English movie worldwide with 13.8 million viewing hours, followed by 8.3 million viewing hours in the second week, lending at number 3. Currently, it is trending in the top 10 in 23 countries while in week 2, it was trending in 20 nations. For the third week in a row, Gangubai Kathiawadi is the number 1 movie on Netflix in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain, and Kuwait, among others. ## Meanwhile, on the other hand, the Hindi version of Thalapathy Vijay's, Beast (Raw) debuted in the top 5 on the streamer with 4.8 million viewing hours. Hyderabad, April 8 - Pan India star Prabhas has reportedly compensated the distributors for their loss accrued due to the disastrous box office performance of "Radhe Shyam". ## Prabhas is one of the biggest names in Indian cinema and easily the most bankable star in the country. However, the actor's recently released period romantic drama film, "Radhe Shyam" failed to meet box office expectations which caused huge losses to the distributors. ## Known for his kindness, Prabhas reportedly took the initiative of compensating the investors and returned part of his remuneration to them. Made on a budget of around 300 crores, "Radhe Shyam" could only generate approx. 160 crores worldwide and was declared a disaster at the box office. ## The post-theatrical streaming rights of this Radha Krishna Kumar-directed were sold to Amazon Prime Video. The producers fetched a whopping amount of Rs 200 crores just from the satellite and digital rights which helped them to recover the cost. It was made available on Prime Video only after 21 days of theatrical release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Mumbai, March 11 - Prabhas' long-awaited period romantic drama film "Radhe Shyam" has bombed at the Hindi box office. Despite the anticipation, the movie couldn't meet expectations and opened to nearly Rs. 2.10 crores on Friday from multiplexes. By adding single screens data, it earned around 4.50 Cr Hindi net. ## On the other hand, National award-winning filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri's "The Kashmir Files" surprises at the box office. As per the early estimates, the film, based on true events, opens to Rs. 2.40 crores net from the multiplexes (including single screen, it earned around 3.30 Cr), despite the far fewer screens as compared to "Radhe Shyam". ## "The Kashmir Files", which tells the story of the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus in the early 1990s due to the Kashmir Insurgency, got a big boost towards evening and night shows from the strong word of mouth. The film has managed to touch the hearts of the audiences, and it is sure to grow further over the weekend. ## In the comparison between "Radhe Shyam" and "The Kashmir Files", the Radha Krishna Kumar-directed had 428 shows in Mumbai for the Hindi version, wherein "The Kashmir Files" had only 153 shows on the first day. There is a massive gap in the budget of two films as well. "Radhe Shyam" is made in nearly Rs. 300 crores cost while TKF cost just Rs. 20-25 crores. ## "Radhe Shyam", meanwhile, has managed to score big in the Telugu version, which can be seen as a cakewalk for Prabhas. It netted an estimated Rs. 42 crores in Telugu, which is the biggest since "Saaho" in 2019. The actor has made an image of a Rebal star over the years with a dollop of high-octane action and has been successful in doing that. ## "Radhe Shyam" is a unique love story film that is very known for Prabhas, who said that he wanted to do something different from regular action films. Mumbai, March 10, 2022: After Baahubali 2, Prabhas came with Saaho and the opening day was a blast even in Hindi as it made 24.40 Cr Net on its first day. ## After that, Saaho became a hit in the Hindi belt even with mixed reviews and Prabhas proved that he is a now PAN India star. ## Now, he is coming up with Radhe Shyam which is a romantic movie and it was also supposed to take a grand opening, not as good as Saaho due to its romantic genre as action movies opening is always better. ## Action movie Saaho opened with 105 Cr India gross (second highest after Baahubali 2) and Radhe Shyam's expectation was 80-85 Cr due to its genre and post-pandemic release but with no proper planning from makers, Radhe Shyam's opening day seems to be 50-55 Cr India gross. ## This opening number may go higher if Radhe Shyam receives solid reviews and then WOM will do its work for Friday evening and night shows. ## Radhe Shyam Hindi advance booking opened late, there was no big promotion in the Hindi belt and it is a romantic movie, due to these reasons, Radhe Shyam's opening day numbers seems to really low as of now as it is heading towards 3-4 cr net.
