Breaking Buzz: Prabhas' Spirit First Look On New Year

Hyderabad, December 29 "“ The excitement around superstar Prabhas' upcoming pan-India film Spirit continues to grow, and the latest buzz suggests that fans may be in for a major update in the New Year 2026. According to a report by Gulte.com, the makers are planning a special New Year's surprise to set the tone for what is being touted as a gritty cop actioner.

According to the report, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is said to have done the principal shoot session for the first look of Prabhas and is planning to unveil the much-anticipated look from Spirit as a New Year blast. Sandeep Vanga had also dropped the first look of his previous film Animal on New Year's night 2023 (Dec 31, 2022).

Known for designing striking and discussion-worthy promotional material, Vanga is reportedly timing the reveal to create maximum impact. The first look is expected to showcase Prabhas in a never-seen-before intense avatar, which has remained a closely guarded secret since the film was announced. Although there is no official confirmation from the production house or the director yet, the buzz has already created a wave of excitement among fans across social media.

Spirit marks Prabhas' first collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, making it one of the most awaited films in Indian cinema. Backed by T-Series and Bhadrakali Productions, the film is being developed as a large-scale pan-India action drama. Prabhas is reportedly playing a police officer, and the narrative is expected to be raw, gritty, and emotionally charged, elements that are signature to Vanga's filmmaking style.

With shooting progressing and anticipation steadily building, a New Year first look would be a strategic move to place Spirit firmly in the spotlight. Also starring Tripti Dimri, Vivek Oberoi and Kanchana, the film is likely to be released in 2027.

Baahubali The Epic OTT Release Date: When and Where To Watch SS Rajamouli's Record-Breaker

Hyderabad, December 24 - Maverick director SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Epic, the single part cut of his path-breaking Baahubali duology, had a release in October last week this year. The action drama has been one of the most talked about Indian re-releases, and didn't disappoint with a record-breaking box office run, even though the film didn't perform to the level of high expectations. Starring Prabhas in the title role alongside Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Nasser, Sathya Raj, and Tamannah Bhatia, among others, Baahubali: The Epic grossed over 50 crores worldwide and became the highest-grossing Indian re-release of all time. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) After its successful theatrical run, the 3-hour and 40-minute-long blockbuster is now set for its OTT release. According to the latest update, Baahubali: The Epic will start streaming on Netflix from December 25, coinciding with the Christmas festival. While almost every South Indian film arrives on OTT after 4 weeks, The Epic will stream after 56 days of theatrical run. The digital response of this Prabhas-led epic is eagerly awaited, as Rajamouli's last film, RRR, was a massive blockbuster for Netflix with one of the highest digital viewership ever for an Indian film. However, it needs to be seen if the audience is still excited for the story they already know. Released to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Baahubali: The Beginning (2015), The Epic is a re-edited and remastered single-film version of the two-part epic saga, The Beginning (2015) and The Conclusion (2017), combining footage from both films with technical enhancements and a previously unreleased scene. The film follows Sivudu, a young warrior raised in a tribal village, who learns of his royal heritage and aims to liberate the kingdom of Mahishmati from its oppressive ruler. His journey involves conflicts, alliances, and revelations about the kingdom's past. Stay tuned...

Rajamouli's magnum opus, Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, both stormed into the ₹100 crore club with the phenomenal success of RRR. Baahubali The Epic Final Box Office Collection: Epic Yet Underwhelming Run

Hyderabad, November 19 - Director SS Rajamouli's action drama Baahubali: The Epic, the one long cut version of his iconic Baahubali duology, has wrapped up its epic yet unwhelming box office run. The movie has become the highest-grossing Indian re-release title, but it promised much more. Starring Prabhas in the title role, Baahubali: The Epic was unlike any other Indian re-release title. The makers promoted it as a proper new release, and it delivered results to some extent. However, the trade was expecting it to become the first Indian re-release film to gross over 100 crores, which didn't happen. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Produced by Arka Mediaworks, the film has grossed approximately 39.50 crores domestically, making it the highest-grossing re-release film in India. Overseas, The Epic minted approximately 12.25 crores, including 8.25 crores in North America, finishing at around 52 crores gross globally. These are unheard-of numbers for a reissue Indian title, which demonstrates the massive excitement it generated before its release. Baahubali: The Epic Box Office Collection | All Language | Day Wise | Worldwide In Telugu states, the film scored around 21.50 crores, while the Hindi belt delivered 8.25 crores. Overall, the movie sold approximately 23 lakh tickets in India, which is an excellent result for a re-release blockbuster. It is the third most-watched re-release film in India, after Sanam Teri Kasam and Tumbbad, which sold 23+ lakh tickets each. Baahubali: The Epic opened strongly in select territories, but its collections dropped quickly after the first weekend, signalling limited repeat value among audiences. The grand re-release "” including extensive 4K restoration, IMAX screenings, and a new marketing push "” had created an atmosphere similar to that of a major new release. Yet, the finish highlighted that even an iconic franchise like Baahubali cannot fully replicate its past theatrical dominance merely through nostalgia. Stay tuned...

Rajamouli Reveals Bali Inspiration Behind Baahubali Battle Film Roars Again At Box Office

When S.S. Rajamouli says inspiration can strike anywhere, he means it literally. In a recent X post going viral among film buffs, the master storyteller revealed that the Karna and Ghatotkacha fight sequence in Baahubali was inspired by a grand sculpture he saw in Bali. The larger-than-life depiction of the mythological clash sparked a creative spark "” one that eventually shaped one of Indian cinema"™s most iconic war moments. And now, with Baahubali: The Epic back in cinemas in its remastered, single-cut format, audiences are once again witnessing how that vision translated into cinematic history. #SSRajamouli Said I Saw - KARNA AND GHATOTKACHA FIGHT - Statue in Bali then I decided its need be in My #BaahubaliTheEpic Film. pic.twitter.com/CVdgie778A— GetsCinema (@GetsCinema) November 4, 2025 This new edition condenses the two-part saga into one sweeping narrative while upgrading visuals and sound for today"™s big-screen standards. Even as a re-release, Baahubali: The Epic has surged back into theatres with remarkable force. The film has already garnered ₹26 crore net in India in its first four days, with a global weekend haul of ₹39.75 crore, proving the franchise still commands massive pull. The re-release has drawn strong turnout across metros, fuelled by loyal fans returning for the big-screen experience, families rediscovering the epic, and a fresh wave of younger audiences seeing Baahubali in theatres for the very first time. This perfect mix of nostalgia and new curiosity has given the film an impressive second life at the box office. Whether you"™re revisiting Mahishmati or experiencing it for the first time, Baahubali: The Epic proves once again that true cinematic universes don"™t age "” they evolve. And as Rajamouli"™s Bali anecdote reminds us "” epic stories come from observing epic stories carved by cultures long before us. The only difference? He turned inspiration into a phenomenon.
