'RRR' Stars Pay Tribute To Actor Ray Stevenson Who Passed Away At 58

Mumbai, May 23 - The Northern Irish actor, Ray Stevenson, who played the villainous British governor in SS Rajamouli's global blockbuster "RRR", sadly passed away at the age of 58.



According to The Guardian, Ray Stevenson had died on Sunday, four days before his birthday. The actor had been hospitalized with a sudden illness on the island of Ischia, while in production on the film Cassino in Ischia.



On the actor's shocking demise, the lead star cast of "RRR" along with director SS Rajamouli, took to Twitter to pay tribute. Rajamouli said, "Shocking... Just can't believe this news. Ray brought in so much energy and vibrancy with him to the sets. It was infectious. Working with him was pure joy. My prayers are with his family. May his soul rest in peace".



Actor Jr. NTR, who played the role of Komaram Bheem in the movie, wrote on Twitter, "Shocked to hear about Ray Stevenson's passing. Gone too soon. It was a great experience working with him. May his soul rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and dear ones during this difficult time".



Ram Charan also remember the late actor and wrote, "Shocking and deeply saddened with the news of Ray Stevenson passing away. Rest In Peace Dear Scott, you'll be remembered forever".



Ray Stevenson was popular for his roles in the action thriller film based on Marvel comics "Punisher: War Zone" along with the first three "Thor" movies, in which he played the Asgardian warrior Volstagg. Other prominent film roles included the Divergent trilogy, GI Joe: Retaliation, and The Transporter: Refueled.



The actor will have three posthumous releases in the form of "1242: Gateway to the West" and "Cassino in Ischia" along with the Star Wars series "Ahsoka".

Mumbai, December 15 - Pushpa 2 has become the third highest-grossing Indian movie at the worldwide box office in just less than 11 days since its release on December 5. ## With the ongoing 11th day (2nd Sunday), Pushpa 2 - The Rule is expected to be around 1300 crores gross globally, surpassing the lifetime worldwide total of SS Rajamouli's epic RRR (1230 crores gross) and Yash-fronted KGF: Chapter 2 (1215 crores gross) to become the third biggest Indian grosser. ## The Sukumar's directorial blockbuster is now behind Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 (1790 crores gross) and Aamir Khan's Dangal (2070 crores gross) which are currently the biggest Indian titles. The sci-fi epic has managed to score approximately 70 crores in net collection in week two. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD is among the top 20 films in the biggest second week ever in Hindi and when it comes to South Indian films, the same finished as the 4th biggest second week grosser, behind SS Rajamouli's RRR. ## SS Rajamouli and Prabhas' epic all-time blockbuster, Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion remains the biggest and the only 100+ crores net South Indian second-week grosser in the dubbed version, followed by Yash-fronted KGF: Chapter 2.
