Shahid Kapoor's Action Thriller With Director Vishal Bharadwaj Titled 'Romeo'; Release Date Unchanged

Mumbai, July 24 - The acclaimed duo of Shahid Kapoor and filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj are all set to collaborate for the fourth time with an intense action thriller film. The pair has previously delivered critically acclaimed films like Kaminey (2009), Haider (2014), and Rangoon (2017), and their latest collaboration is already creating buzz across the industry.



The Film Titled Romeo
Shahid and Vishal's film was originally supposed to be titled Arjun Ustara; however, according to the latest report by Pinkvilla, the movie has been titled Romeo. It is said that the makers were toying with several other titles too, including Arjun Ustara and Evil, but Romeo got finalised as it stands true to the nature of the character.

No Change in Release Date



Produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Romeo was officially announced for December 5, 2025, release, and the latest development has confirmed that the makers aren't willing to change the date. It means the movie will be clashing with Ranveer Singh's espionage thriller Dhurandhar and Prabhas-fronted horror-comedy The Raja Saab, which are scheduled to release on the same day.





With a gripping premise, a powerhouse cast, and the trusted Shahid-Vishal collaboration at its core, Romeo is one of the most anticipated films of 2025.

With the release more than six months away, it gives the team time to weave in some additional tracks. The third weekend trend, though, is on the lower level overall, indicating that the movie has some gas still left, which should help it reach 115 crores lifetime net collection. Jolly LLB 2 is currently the biggest grosser of the franchise with 117 crores net collections.
