Mumbai, December 13 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's rescue thriller Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue was the most-watched non-English film worldwide on Netflix during the week of December 4 - December 10, and also crossed 10 million viewing hours in the first 10 days. ## Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, "Mission Raniganj" scored 5.7 million viewing hours from 2.5 million views on Netflix during the said week. It was the 5th most-watched non-English title on the streamer in its opening weekend with 5.5 million viewing hours from 2.4 million views.## The total viewing hours of the movie are now 11.20 million from 4.9 million views. The film is trending in the top 10 in 14 countries, including number 1 in India, Oman, and Pakistan. Outside Asia, "Mission Raniganj" is trending at number 10 in Nigeria and number 6 in Mauritius. ## Meanwhile, Zoya Akhtar's "The Archies" which was directly released on Netflix on December 7, scored 5.2 million viewing hours from 2.2 million views in its opening weekend and was the third most-watched non-English film worldwide. The movie received poor reviews from critics and OTT audiences. ## Another Indian film in the top 10 was Bhumi Padnekar and Shehnaaz Gill's "Thank You for Coming" at number 7. Mumbai, December 6 - Thalapathy Vijay's box office blockbuster Leo had its worldwide debut on Netflix on November 28 in all versions, however, only the Hindi version of the film could make it to the streamer's top 10 viewership chart. Netflix released its weekly chart in which two Indian films finished in the top 5 during the week of November 27 - December 4. ## The Hindi version of "Leo" scored 6.8 million viewing hours from 2.5 million views and was the third most-watched non-English film in the world on Netflix in its first week. The film is trending in the top 10 in 9 countries, including number 1 in Maldives, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.## Akshay Kumar's rescue thriller Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue also started on a decent note on Netflix and was the 5th most watched non-English title on the streamer in the week of Nov 27 - Dec 3. 'Mission Raniganj' Final Worldwide Box Office Collection

Mumbai, November 10 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's rescue thriller Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue has almost completed its theatrical run with underwhelming box office numbers given the star cast it got featured. ## Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, "Mission Raniganj" was the least promoted theatrical film of Akshay Kumar and with less to no hype, the movie opened at 2.80 crores net. The opening of the movie was one of the lowest ever for an Akshay Kumar-starrer. The movie did show some growth over the first weekend but wasn't enough as the collection remained low. ## "Mission Raniganj" got mixed to positive reception from the critics and audiences which kept it in theaters and after 5 weeks, the movie scored over 34 crores net collection. Though the box office numbers of the film are no way near the potential of the Akshay Kumar-starrer it is still respectable given the low opening. ## Produced by Pooja Entertainment, the film is currently playing in around 100 shows which will be reduced to almost zero after the release of Salman Khan's "Tiger 3" on November 12. Box Office: 'Jawan' 7th Weekend, 'Fukrey 3' 4th Weekend, and 'Mission Raniganj' 3rd Weekend Collection

Mumbai, October 23 - It was a quiet weekend at the Bollywood box office as new films disappointed big-time, led by Tiger Shroff's "Ganapath", and T-Series' "Yaariyan 2". Both movies combined collected just approximately 8.50 crores net which was lower than Thalapathy Vijay's "Leo" Hindi collection of approximately 9.50 crores during the same weekend. ## While new films couldn't do much, the holdover movies too are running out of gas. Akshay Kumar's Mission Raniganj, which had an underwhelming first two weeks, scored approx. 1.20 crore net collection in its 3rd weekend. The film's total collection stands at 31.20 crores net after 17 days. The overall collection of "Mission Raniganj" is low, and the final collection is heading for under 35 crores net. ## Fukrey 3 is still keeping its hope alive to touch the 100 crores net mark though the chances are very slim for the same. The comic entertainer was the second-best performer among the holdover films and collected approximately 90 lakh net in its 4th weekend. The total net collection of the movie has reached around 94.25 crores after 25 days and heading towards finishing around 97 crores net collection. ## Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster Jawan is still collecting despite being in its 7th week. Indian Box Office Attracts 6+ Million Footfalls On National Cinema Day 2023

Mumbai, October 14 - The Multiplex Association Of India (MAI) said in a statement that National Cinema Day 2023 attracted an estimated 6+ million (60+ lakh) footfalls at the Indian box office on October 13. The second NCD received a big thumbs-up from moviegoers on over 4000 screens nationwide. ## The National Cinema Day 2022 scored 6.5 million (65 lakh) footfalls and was a massive success after the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, the ticket prices were kept as low as Rs. 75 for NCD while this year the prices were increased to Rs. 99 per ticket for this particular day.## The participating theatre chains on NCD 2023, included PVRINOX, Cinepolis, Miraj, Mukta A2, Movie Time, Wave, M2K, MovieMax, Rajhans, NY Cinemas, and Delite, among many others which offered movie ticket prices for Rs. 99 for the whole day and for any movie.## The biggest gainers on NCD 2023 were Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster "Jawan", Akshay Kumar's "Mission Raniganj", Excel Entertainment's comic caper "Fukrey 3", Telugu comedy "Mad", and Mammootty's "Kannur Squad", among others. This pushes to total collection to around 23.50 crores net in 8 days which is still a low total.## The action thriller "Jawan" has truly been a sensational blockbuster. Mumbai, October 12 - The National Cinema Day 2023 is set to welcome Indian patrons to watch the movies on the big screens at prices as low as Rs. 99 on October 13. NCD was a big success last year which saw over 6 million people visit theaters to watch the films and the same is expected this time as well. ## As far as the Bollywood movies are concerned, Shah Rukh Khan-fronted "Jawan", Akshay Kumar's "Mission Raniganj", and comic caper "Fukrey 3" are set for big gains. All three films have combined sold over 5 lakh tickets for tomorrow and the numbers are increasing rapidly with each passing hour. ## Action thriller "Jawan" has already completed 5 weeks with a domestic gross collection of around 745 crores till now. The NCD 2023 will give the audiences a chance to watch this mega-blockbuster on the big screen at such low prices. The movie has sold over 3 lakh tickets for NCD.## Akshay Kumar's "Mission Raniganj" has a dismal show so far with a domestic gross collection of just 21.50 crores in 7 days. The advance booking for NCD, however, is excellent as it has sold around 3.25 lakh tickets which is excellent for a film performing low at the box office.## "Fukrey 3" is leading the advance booking with around 4 lakh tickets for NCD which is its 16th day. Mumbai, October 9 - Akshay Kumar's biopic survival thriller, Mission Raniganj crashed on its first Monday after the low opening weekend. The movie could have a chance of some revival at the domestic box office by putting up a collection on Friday levels but that is not the case anymore.## Mission Raniganj, on its first Monday, scored an estimated 1-1.25 crores net collection, which takes the total collection to around 13.75 crores in 4 days. These collections could have been termed good for a low-budget movie but not a film featuring one of the biggest Bollywood stars. ## The film was carrying a low buzz before release and the makers didn't even put effort into generating awareness among the audiences by opting no to a minimum promotion strategy. The movie is heading towards finishing under 25 crores net mark, which is a disappointing performance.## Meanwhile, adult comedy-drama, Thank You For Coming, is also heading towards a similar fate as it scored an estimated approximately 50 lakh net collection, pushing a total 4-day cume to around 5.00 crores. Mumbai, October 9 - It was not so good weekend at the Bollywood box office as far as the new releases are concerned. The just concluded weekend saw the release of Akshay Kumar's Mission Raniganj, all female-led adult comedy-drama Thank You For Coming, and the heart-warming love story Dono, but none of them could carry the momentum Bollywood was going through over the last few months. ## "Mission Raniganj", based on real-life survival thriller events and featuring one of the biggest Bollywood stars, couldn't find audiences in theatres in its opening weekend and scored just a little over 12 crores net collection. The movie needed to score more than the usual jump on Saturday and Sunday after the very low opening day. It did score a big jump on Saturday but was not enough to cover the lost ground and then was affected by the World Cup match on Sunday.## The adult comedy-drama, "Thank You For Coming", didn't get the opportunity to welcome the moviegoers in theatres as it also ended up scoring a very low opening weekend. The opening of the movie itself was low with 1.06 crores net, and despite the jump on Saturday and Sunday, it managed to collect 4.42 crores net in three days. The best it can now hope to score over opening day collection in the weekdays for a decent lifetime total. ## "Dono", a heart-warming romantic drama, starring debutante Rajveer Deol and Paloma Dhillon, was a goner on the opening day itself. It scored around 1 crore net in the opening weekend, joining the list of new releases which failed at the box office. ## Meanwhile, the holdover film, Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster "Jawan" had a fantastic 5th weekend in Hindi, scoring approximately 6.25 crores net which takes the total Hindi net collection to over 566 crores in 32 days. Mumbai, October 7 - After the shocking opening day, Akshay Kumar's Mission Raniganj sees a big jump on its second day at the domestic box office but not big enough to cover the lost ground. The movie jumped by around 70% today, but it needed to score over 100% as the opening day was low at 2.80 crores net.## On its first Saturday/second day, Mission Raniganj scored an estimated 4.50-5 crores net, taking the total collection to over 7.50 crores in two days. The two-day collection of the movie should have ideally been the opening day collection which was not the case, and now, so much has been left for it to chase. ## While the damage has already been done, Mission Raniganj can still make up if it shows a similar kind of jump tomorrow on Sunday and then performs on a similar level to today's collection on the first Monday. Mumbai, October 6 - There was an Akshay Kumar-starrer, Mission Raniganj released this Friday, and the audience was hardly aware of that. The makers haven't even promoted that movie properly, suggesting that they either were too confident or had no hopes for it.## The movie got favourable reviews from critics and the initial word of mouth also seems positive, but because the makers didn't put much effort into promoting it and the lack of awareness among general audiences, there was hardly any opening of the movie at the box office.## Mission Raniganj opened to dull occupancy in the morning and it didn't improve a bit in the next shows as well, as early estimates suggest around 2.75 crores net opening. The final numbers may vary a little bit here and there, but it will still be a disastrous and one of the lowest openings ever for an Akshay Kumar-starrer.## The movie was carrying a low buzz due to obvious reasons, but it was still expected to take even a decent opening as Akshay recently delivered a box office hit in the form of "OMG 2".
