Mumbai, September 12, 2021: Vicky Kaushal starrer long-awaited biographical film "Sardar Udham Singh" becomes the latest Bollywood biggie to take the direct-to-digital route. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the movie has been ready for release for quite some time now. ## The producers of the film were reportedly not willing to hold the release of the film anymore and they have sold the movie to Amazon Prime Video. However, with Maharashtra theaters are yet to open, the makers have taken this tough call to release the movie on Prime Video. ## Vicky Kaushal plays the role of Udham Singh, a revolutionary freedom fighter best known for assassinating Michael O'Dwyer in London to take revenge for the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar. The movie also stars Banita Sandhu as the female lead. In this process, makers of the much-awaited Bollywood movie Gulabo Sitabo have announced on Thursday (May 14) that they have opted for the digital platform instead of the conventional theatrical release to release the film. ## Shoojit Sircar’s comedy-drama Gulabo Sitabo starring Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana will now premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 12. “This is the dawn of a new era for Indian entertainment.
