'Housefull 5' Eyes Record Opening In The Franchise

Mumbai, June 6 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar-led comedy entertainer Housefull 5 hits the big screen today, June 6, amid huge anticipation. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, it is the costliest film of the franchise, and the expectations are huge from this at the box office. ## Housefull 5 scored one of the biggest advances of the year for a Bollywood title, with approximately 2.50 lakh tickets sold worth approximately 8 crore gross collection (without block seat) for the opening day. The pre-sales, however, are not as big as it was expected given the franchise value and huge star cast. ## Despite pre-sales falling short of expectations, Housefull 5 is eying the record opening in the franchise. In comparison to one of the recent films, Sikandar, the advance booking of HF5 is slightly behind, but it needs to be noted that the Salman Khan-starrer had a Sunday release. ## It has also been observed that the Housefull franchise is not usually an advance-heavy franchise and has relied on spot bookings, and this seems to be the case with the latest instalment. The urgency in booking tickets is much higher on the release day than on the previous days, which shows the strong response in spot booking. ## At this point, Housefull 5 is looking to score the biggest opening of the franchise, beating Housefull 4, which scored around 19 crore net. 'Housefull 5' To Be Akshay Kumar's Widest Release; Budget Details Also Revealed

Mumbai, June 3 - The much-awaited comedy entertainer Housefull 5, starring superstar Akshay Kumar, is all set to hit the big screen on June 6, and it is going to be the first of its kind film for its genre as well as for Akshay. ## Housefull 5 is the fifth instalment of the blockbuster franchise, and according to the reports, it is set to be the widest release for the franchise. It is said that the film will be released on over 5000 screens across the country. Overseas, it will release on over 2000 screens. This makes it the widest release for Akshay as well as for the comedy genre in India. ## It is to be noted that Housefull 5 will clash with Kamal Haasan's Thug Life (June 5), and despite that, the former has managed to lock a huge screen count nationwide.
